Modern Acupuncture Studio is Shawn Poppi Sabhaney and that's me. I graduated from a doctorate of Traditional Chinese Medicine program and am a Registered Acupuncturist. I am also a member of the TCMABC and support Community Acupuncture programs.

I have been trained in both Traditional Eastern and Modern Western Acupuncture. I now specialize in auricular (ear) acupuncture and currently provide services for the Canadian Armed Forces, Jericho Garrison (w4th) division, run an Addictions Recovery Program and have a private practice in the Commercial Drive area of Vancouver.

I am a registered NADA (National Acupuncture Detoxification Association) detoxification specialist, receiving my training through Vancouver Coastal Health’s DAYTOX program under the supervision of Les Moncreiff -- one of Vancouver’s pioneers using acupuncture for addictions and chemical withdrawal. Through this training, I became interested in specializing in mental health and addictions work and now provide this service for the greater Vancouver region.

Since I had taken the NADA certification in early 2009 I decided to mix it with my business degree to create and run my own Community Acupuncture Program: 'Acupuncture for Addictions' in several recovery homes around the Greater Vancouver.

I have a simple, straightforward way of explaining our body’s complex biofeedback mechanisms and what really works to support its ability to regenerate, heal and maintain health of our mind and body.
